Dr. Lóránt Horváth

He is 51 years old attorney-at-law in Budapest and Vienna with three children, Gertrúd [2], Péter Andor [16] and András Lóránt [18], his wife is Réka Török, the popular anchor of ATV.

 

Studies

He started his university studies in chemistry at the Kossuth Lajos University Faculty of Science in Debrecen in 1990, but did not graduate there. He graduated in law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Pécs in 2008. In 2012, he received his degree in tax law qualification at the ELTE Institute for Postgraduate Legal Studies. In 2013, he passed the bar exam. He speaks English fluently and also has C-type English, legal and public administration language exams.

 

Business career

His business career began in 1996 and lasted until 2014, he has held CEO and later legal director positions at numerous foreign [Hinduja Group, London, UK, Delhi, India / Dekra AG, Stuttgart, Germany / Guttenbrunn Müller Gruppe, MGG, Amstetten, Austria] and domestic companies, through which he gained in-depth experience in the legal and management aspects of international trade, investments and other business areas.

 

Legal career

Since 2014, he has been a member of the Budapest Bar. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Vienna Bar as a European Community Lawyer. Since 2014, he has been leading the largest law firm in Budapest specializing in budgetary fraud. His law firm is contractual partner of Ernst&Young Hungary. Countrywide well-known lawyer, he is legal advisor of many tv programme, e.g. the ATV’s show “Weekly Diary with András Sváby”. He was presidential candidate of Budapest Bar in 2022.

 

Academic career

Between 2008 and 2015, he was academic lecturer, later head of department and responsible leader for the law enforcement master’s studies at the Police College and later at its legal successor, the National University of Public Services Faculty of Law Enforcement. He is currently academic lecturer at the Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Law, Department of Law and Social Theory.
